CELL NO.1.

‘Cell No. 1’ was a performance about disconnection of individuals from the mass. Three performers were standing in the middle of the theatre. Their heads disappeared in a big black box connected to the ceiling. The performers and the audience were surrounded by the sound of a mass of people that came from eight speakers standing all around in the theatre. The intense cacophony created a strong contrast with the static, motionless performance. During the performance of 10 minutes the sound created by the speakers became louder and louder. Finally the three performers reacted by screaming. The mass got quiet for a moment, to start all over again after this interruption. This performance repeated itself for an hour. This choreography presented a dialogue between the movements of the mass and the movements of individuals.
